What does the band name mean?
Eldar is a word or name that can be found in very different parts of the world, but in our case means "Epidemic" in the archaic Iberian language, very different depending on the locations of the Iberian land.Philosophy and religion in society acts as an "epidemic" Psychologically, we base our work on these two aspects. We believe that music acts on people as does the philosophy or religion, producing different sensations and thoughts that make human beings evolve.

How do you work together as a band?
The society around us, and its history, produces different thoughts and feelings, develop them through our songs. Marc begins to transform these concepts and thoughts musically, once created the foundations of the project are developed by the two, finishing all the work incorporating the voices. Marc finally leads to end all production work and mastering.

In your work, you have lot of synths and pc´s, sounds. How do you play in a live gig?
Today a computer is equal to a synthesizer, they both have the same qualities to generate sounds, and both are used in the same way, without the software for 90% of the bands of our genre would not exist. The only difference between a computer and a synthesizer is the size of the screen....hehehe. A computer is always linked to a keyboard midi, where the sounds are triggered, with it you can also sequence the entire work, is just like an analog synthesizer, the only difference is that with a computer can get many more features in less the physical space. Practically for each analog synthesizer model exists digital version but much cheaper, obviously. We used the two formats, but also use real sounds that later samples. We consider ourselves a group of electronic music, so use either live computer or synthesizers and analog or digital drums support, depending on stage. We're just two persons and it would be impossible to reproduce analogically all live instruments or sounds. There are many well-known for all projects where there is only one component or two, and appears with a single computer, and little else, who enjoyed a good recognition. Many bands make their work with synthesizers and software, but after trying to display an analog face more in live, we show all reality of our work, our scene is very simple, and we know that in these genres "dark" is given great importance to aesthetics and live theater, but we left all to the Glam and the 80's músic. We focus on the independent scene today, where he gives more importance to music than aesthetic appearance.

How do you describe your musical style?
Sometimes outweighs the tag that put listeners to our opinion, tags that often confuses people, by calling "Martial" to "Neoclassic" or "Neofolk" to things that have nothing to folk, as happens with the Dark Ambient monolithic content, we include a good number of content in our work and our sound, so we can not be within this element Dark or Industrial Ambient exclusively. Today we don’t know how to tags the styles like the first albums by Current 93 or Laibach. We believe that our sound is a mix of diferent musical styles, both with our sound and our way of making music. I think we can say that our sound is a blend of Martial Industrial Neo-classical and experimental aspects. We hear many styles of music and that is reflected in our sound, but we love to experiment. Many times we have used archaic Moog synthesizers and others, to create new sounds, we have also recorded sounds from material elements, but all these sounds are processed to obtain different results.

You re-released „Amaterasu Shiroi“. Why did you choose to rework it again?
We didn’t have big ambitions, don’t think that Eldar had the success he's had, so once we got all this recognition that some of our previous demos might be of interest to the public, so we did know. The double demo Album "Amaterasu" and "Solve Et Coagula" were a very limited editions, being sold out we thought it would be a good time to re-record these songs and re-mastered, to edit a new album with some unreleased songs . We are very pleased with the outcome and audience response, since it’s a special edition with the art work from the designers Amalgam Primordialis, also has been a small number of copies in a pack box containing a t-shirt + patch hand embroidery and a pin, all with a luxurious work. This album talks about the conjunction Philosophical East and West, seen through the eyes of our country in the 30's days, for this reason it was so necessary to be edited by a label from our country as Caustic Records, for us one of the labels more professionals and significant in Europe.

What's the difference to the original recording and this  release?
There are many differences, some more easily perceived than others. The first is that the sound quality changed to a completely professional. We re-recorded all the voices and more sound tracks, we have also changed some sounds and samples. And finally we added some songs indedit from the old times. Unlike the early demos, all this work has been created with Merce Spica.

Speak about Amesha Spentas, the last album. What was the concept behind this new work and what concept do you want to transport to the udience?
"Sapere Aude" was our first album in CMI, consisting of collaborations and versions with other bands, except the track 1,  and a very good experience with good results. It was time to offer our work exclusively through CMI. The result has been that "Amesha Spentas" has had more success and acceptance as above. We are very pleased with the result, in this work we have shown our whole musical personality. Through the paintings of Goya saw different concepts and history times, events that were repeated throughout the history of humanity, questions that never end to overcome, in a constant struggle spirits of good and evil that move world, thus titled "Amesha Spentas" to this album. The musician and designer Alonso Urbanos did all the art work based on all this burden philosophers and artists, a difficult work trying to make something original art from Goya and all we try to convey this philosophy, but he did an excellent work. We intend to have our own style, and they say, we did even more with this new album “Amesha Spentas”. We try to show our art in a very personal form, really don’t think our music is intended for the general public, we have a NO commercial sound, we think than have a commercial sound is not to make better music, for that reason don’t expect to have much more success which we already have, we move from a limited public, for many closed minds may seem very large. We believe that our sound, and that of many bands like us, is intended for an audience different from the comercial music, even in this genre of music "dark" there are also comercial styles like Neoclassical music who may like the whole world that belongs to this scene. This way of creating music has many more risks and critical because the industry really múscical moves through commercial music, and not open to sound tough as ours.

You have a curious visual in your Works, don't you?
Each god represents an aspect of our mind but they are all part of the same spirit, this way we see music like a way to link different art forms. Mental images, and real images give us concepts and questions, we can translate these sounds and words, when we put it all together as a result of Eldar song. We've always been lovers of painting and literature, but perhaps our passion for music led us to create and mix music projects with other arts.

If you had to express, suggest or send a message to the public style, promoters, DJs, musicians, friends, enemies, this is your chance to do it.
First thank’s to all people and friends who follow and write us explaining their views on our work and its social and philosophical concepts. For us the best of all this is to share the thoughts hidden in our songs with all those who know understand and appreciate. Likewise thank Roger and his words have believed in our work, since it is an honor that a person with many years experience and having heard so many bands of the genre brings Eldar believes that new and special sound to the scene . Another big hug would have to give Manix and Rara Avis from Caustic Records, for having supported us since the early both Eldar, and now we are eating at the table following this edition with them. Organizers in our country have always been very supportive to this scene, yet being matched by the public as a minority in our country, but they have always fought for this change, for them all our gratitude and support, but we could not forget to acknowledge the great opportunity that we have received from the WGT 2010 organizers to invite the latter event, we were surprised by the high placement of the public who had, because few bands from CMI live in this festival and we are "the news"...hehehe
Finally thank’s to you for the opportunity to do this interview and congratulations for your work.
