ELDAR BIOGRAPHY
ELDAR are Marc Merinee and Merce Spica from Barcelona, born in 2004 and after several limited editions of Rare and Demo Albums on different labels like Black Montanas, SkullLine or Protea Records in 2009 signed with prestigious label Cold Meat Industry with the album "Sapere Aude" and in 2010 edited the hit album "Amesha Spentas" also on the label CMI, and signed with the most important Spanish label of these genres Caustic Records with the edition of the re-recorded "Amaterasu Shiroi" album. Eldar participated in many compilations from various record labels worldwide. Her concert appearances are very concrete. The sound of ELDAR is a unique blend of different musical styles that mix the industrial sound, dark ambient and neoclassical aspects, but all characterized within the framework of electronic music. Their sound evolved over the years to the current sound in each album you discover new aspects of music.
Eldar is a word of the Iberian language, a language of the Iberian about 2,500 years ago, but going back to the past of the megalithic culture. Eldar in this language means "Epidemic". Their message is dualistic, is the confrontation of opposites, laden with symbolism.
Eldar began as a solo project of Marc in 2004, were initially different compositions that came up in time, under the same style and concept, but in his home were not created for any specific
project, they were experimenting with musical experiences the Avantgarde and the environment. There came a time when everything would take form under the name Eldar, and give it body, mind and a
way of being that has evolved to this day, at which time with Merce compose and create all the elements form our current project.
Both members of Eldar came from previous projects that have disappeared over time, these are: Vettius Valens (Merce 1997/2000) sound very ritual and Dying Person (Marc 1992/1996) experimental
cutting. We both agreed in Belaur (2001/2004) who along with two components create a far more electronic.
2004
Eldar appear in 2004 with a split ELDAR & Belaur “Blood Temple” composed in 2002, this download split is edited only for friends by Protea Records. And compose new songs for this
new project Eldar.
2005
In 2005 edit the first Ep “Askataan" with 8 tracks dedicated to the relationship between nature and man, in a auto edition of CDr 23 copies, is an album inspired by the relationship of
humanity with nature, source of eternal recurrence. Iberian culture was well aware of this symbiosis between humanity and nature, between divine beings and their environment in transfer to Protea
Records the album "Askataan" to download mailorder with only 6 tracks, and compose diferents demos tracks to search a new sounds and ways under Avantgarde and Dark Ambient styles for future
works.
2006
Edited in Protea Records mailorder download the demo Ep "Cautio Criminalis" the first collection of demos tracks from 2003 to 2005, creating environments asphyxiating the individual who believe
in a fit mental state to be able to download the information in your mind Eldar who tries to convey. This album is based on the double face of science and how it has been used by polities and
religion on humanity, as a benefit and as a destructive weapon. From the beginning of time, witeheraft, alehemy and science have been monopolized by the powerful people in order to achieve their
targets.
2007
In 2007 edit the demo album "Adaegina", the Iberan ancient goddess, edited in mailorder download by Protea Records, the second demo colletion of tracks from 2005 to 2006, based on the
photographic work of Ernest Andrei Friedmann and Gerta Pohorylle, during the Spanish civil war, A meeting between the image and sound avantgarde. A reflection of society at that time, between
social and political, between art and destruction, a time of cultural and political explosion, a cultural bathed in golden era blood and suffering, all expressed in sounds that surround these
concepts and feelings. And transfer a different version of this album "Adaegina" to edit in digital distro by Black Montanas Net Label (Fossil Dungeon) together with the previous
albums "Cautio Criminalis" and "Askataan", this label created by former members of The Soil Bleeds Black and Equimanthorn. In late 2007 sporadically Marc Merinee is part member of the band
Equimanthorn in the creation of a new album of this band.
2008
In 2008 simultaneously editing the double demo album in CDr "Ama Terasu" & "Solve Et Coagula" by SkullLine Label. In the first volume "Ama Terasu"
there are new songs with songs from the past, also includes two songs written for the project Equimanthorn in 2007. In the second volume "Solve Et
Coagula" is a entire collection with all the new songs. These two albums provide a turn toward the Industrial Martial retaining the essence of Dark Ambient, are dedicated
to the philosophy in its purest form, and the effects of this on society. A new way in the sound of Eldar. Also appears in the compilations "Free Your Mind", "My Dear Freaks II", "We Rise Above"
and "Weltherrschaft II".
2009
In early 2009 decided to create the album "Sapere Aude" edited by the great label Cold Meat Industry, a work with a group of friends from Spanish and Latin American bands scene, trying to create
an album in the ideal of a scene together and relied on set. Was to create an album with the sound of Eldar but created alongside the other bands. In some cases created entirely new songs
together, others were completely rebuilt, other songs were drawn to the sound of Eldar, and in other cases is original version songs by other bands remixing and adding some more instruments to
fit the sound of Eldar. The result was an album of Eldar which showed the work together and for a group of friends bands in 2008. Eldar present this new album in live at Barcelona and Madrid
concerts with Andrew King, Wertham, Persona and Scumearth. In late 2009 Eldar re-mastered all her early demos "Cautio Criminalis" & "Adaegina" and the first album "Askataan",
previously published by Protea Records and Black Montanas (Fossil Dungeon) in a digital distribution or mailorder download, and re-published in 2009 under the label Skull Line, adding
previously unreleased tracks to each album, a collection of the first Eldar album and demos. Also appears in many compilations like "Tribute to Dead Soldiers 1914-1918", "Free Your Mind II",
"Alchemist Compendium", "Fall Asleep Ghost", "Why I Remember" and the Tarot Series "The Empress" Compilation.
2010
In 2010 returns with a new album "Amesha Spentas" also edited by Cold Meat Industry, the second album in this important label, and with their significant mixture of dark-ambient and
bombastic martial music. As always they choose the title for their album related to a philosophical and mystical meaning. On "Amesha Spentas" the songs has been created based on the work by Goya,
from the conceptual point of view. Viewing these works through an occult philosophy. Each song is placed in a specific historical moment. All sounds and instruments are also chosen specifically
for each songs individual concept. Using multitude of synths, samples, tools (metals, knives, bowls, pipes, wood, etc.) together with field recordings. Creating that special dark haunted
atmosphere that has become wellknown as the ELDAR sound. Also the most important label in this genre in Spain, Caustic Records presents the Eldar album "Amaterasu Shiroi", a re-release of two old
and sold out albums. All work that appears on this album has been re-recorded and re-mastered, from the demo recordings in 2007/2008, edited by SkullLine in two volumes called "Ama Terasu" and
"Solve Et Coagula" currently sold out. They have been re-recorded almost all the instruments and voices that make up the album, also have been changed and added various features and
sounds/samples of songs, including inedit songs. The result is an album completely new and different from the first recordings of those years. This album is based on the relation of philosophy
and society. Humanity in their continuing struggle to manage their destination uses the philosophy to guide their society, unlike animals that only use force to impose its collective. Other times
it is used for personal purposes and lead the masses. A divine spirit behind the philosophy, but this is used for diabolical purposes. This work is dedicated to all those who have fought and
still fighting for that philosophy is a social ideal and the only way for humanity to evolve. "We pray to the deity Amaterasu to make this possible". Eldar present this news works in Wave Gotik
Treffen 2010 at Volkspalast with Nurse With Wound, Sardh, Satori and Blind Cave Salamander. The last edition in 2010 is the Split ELDAR / Liyr / Der Arbeiter "Scontrum Act IX" edited
by War Office Propaganda, last part of this unique Cd series as usually the release comes in wooden covers and is limited to 369 handnumbered copies in this moment sold out. Also appears in many
compilations in this year like "Andre Zeiten", "Alchemist Compendium II", "Night Wok" and "5th Anniversary SkullLine".
2011
ELDAR take a year off without editing any new album, but participates in various compilations like "Septem - the Seven Luminaries" and "Beyond The Mirror Of Time". Also colaborates with the project Tribes Of Medusa in the album "Cultures Of War". Eldar presents its first exhibition of video art with a concert at the Modjeska Theatre, Legnica (Poland) in the INTERMEDIALE FESTIVAL.
